How to Prevent Cavity Formation?

Kids Dental Clinic in Bellevue would often recommend, the best you to fight against cavities is to stop them from forming in the first place. Here is a step-by-step guide to proper dental care.
  • Make your kid brush their teeth at least twice a day. Use fluoride-containing toothpaste. It helps to strengthen the enamel.
  • Food debris gets caught in teeth crevices. For this, rinse your mouth with a mouth rinse that contains fluoride.
  • Take a routine check-up. You can opt for professional teeth cleaning.
  • You can have sealants placed in your teeth. It acts as a shield against the cavity.
  • Drink ample water after your meal. You can drink water from the tap which is said to have high contents of fluoride.
  • Oil pulling is an ancient technique.

Foods to Prevent Cavity Formation

1) Fiber-Rich Foods and Veggies
A child should have an average of 10 to 20 grams of fiber every day and an adult should have at least 30 to 32 grams of fiber per day. Some of the fiber-rich food includes:
  • Nuts and seeds.
  • Fruits such as watermelon and pears.
  • Beans and pulses.
  • Wholegrain breakfast cereals.
2) Dairy Products
The calcium in different dairy products helps to restore the minerals. Besides, they help in building up enamel. For children who are allergic to milk or has lactose intolerance then you can get calcium-fortified juices, soy milk for your child.
3) Whole Grains
Whole grains are rich in Vitamin B and iron which helps in keeping your gums healthy. Moreover, they are rich in fiber. You can plan a diet for your child keeping all these things in mind.
4) Green and Black Teas
This prevents the formation of plaque. The polyphenols found in green and black teas kill the held-up bacteria. It prevents acids that attack your tooth enamel.

Food You Need to Avoid

candy
  • If your kid likes candies then get them candies that don’t stay up longer in your mouth.

What Our Patients Are Saying

★★★★★
"Literally THE best kids dentistry EVER!!! If you want to have your kids' teeth checked out and have a blast time for them, then look no further. I don't do positive reviews because I feel that I pay for the service anyways but I must say, this placed is awesome for both kids and the parents. Highly recommend..”
— YELP user Jy C.

★★★★★
"I was pretty nervious when my kid mentioned his toothache, because making my kid sit straight is very tall order, let alone when dentist probbing his mouth. Surprisingly, Dr Jun made my kid relaxed and somehow found a way to extract his teeth. My kid went to her again in a week, with no fear for follow up appointment.

I would recommend her anytime. ”
